History and Mission

Accounting division was founded in 1997, exactly 5 years after foundation of Persian Gulf University itself and it can be inferred easily that this field of study is almost as old as PGU. Since then, the accounting major in PGU has been evolved from different perspectives including the number of faculty members, the number of students, and as a result, the number of graduated capable students employed by the vast labor market of accounting profession. Through this past quarter-century, all of the faculty members of accounting division have tried the best to train highly qualified students so that the name of PGU brings to mind the diligence and honesty of south people. Among numerous future plans of accounting division, it is worthwhile to mention that in the near future we are going to have M.A. degree of accounting and also, we are constantly planning to train worthy students capable of meeting professional accounting needs of south region especially Bushehr province. Since accounting field of study has two inseparable aspects of practice and theory, the initial and most valuable focus of accounting division is to promote both aspects intensely required for being a proficient accountant. In addition, along with the vast development in computerized accounting systems, we all commit ourselves to be equipped with the latest knowledge related to these modern systems in order to prepare our educated students for the well-respected labor market. We are looking forward to the coming-soon brilliant future.
